The econet philosophy: “economy + ecology = econet”
Economic goals previously dominated corporate networks. In contrast, the “eco” in econet also stands for “ecology”.
This does not refer to preservation of the environment, however, but the ability to enable a truly flexible network,
a dynamic tapestry of independent “life forms”.
The advantage over rigid conventional solutions is obvious. A process-oriented eco-network creates a flexible
corporate world, which, on the one hand, integrates economy, efficiency and predictability. At the same time, the
econet approach promotes a lively and self-regulating variety of products, services and interfaces.
With this as a basis, companies can achieve the flexibility which the coming business community and the need for
Web services will demand. Without investment risk, the company’s “ecosystem” will produce new services, product
portfolios, synergies and overarching business processes every time. The result is a lively, global corporate
organism, in which business logic dictates the technology and not the other way around.
The result of this evolution is a new type of company: more global but more humane, simpler but more individual,
more dynamic but more stabile, readier to form alliances but independent. And, last but not least, more successful.
