A mature business in the IT field, econet is directed by a dynamic and dedicated team:
Max Peter
Max Peter has been chairman and Chief Executive Officer of econet AG since 2008. He founded econet as an
IT-consulting limited company in 1994 and, after a period of sustained profitable growth, he
was instrumental in transforming the business into a joint-stock company with its focus on
software businesses.
Max Peter actively participates in commercial associations and business networks. Among his other
activities, he is a founding member of the German Chapter of the global business organization of
YEO (Young Entrepreneur Organisation). He is also an important founder and a past president of
the International Microsoft Partner Network IAMCP Germany e.V. and a member of the board of IAMCP
EMEA and the international Microsoft Partner Advisory Council (PAC). Peter is active on econet’s
behalf in BITKOM, BayME and in the D21 initiative. He was invited to serve as a member of one of
the advisory workgroups at the first national IT summit, which took place under the direction of
Germany’s chancellor Angela Merkel in 2006.
Max Peter started his first two businesses in 1992, i.e. several years before he founded econet.
He studied informatics and psychology at Munich University of Applied Science, and he studied
managerial economics and business informatics at Hagen Open University. Before commencing his
university studies, Peter had already worked during high school as a freelance IT consultant
and had advised businesses such as Siemens and Hewlett Packard about complex IT projects in the
field of IT networks.
Martin Chroust
Martin Chroust has been Chief Technical Officer at econet AG since 2008.
After joining econet in 1996, he formatively contributed to the development of
econet’s software solutions. He is currently responsible
for the product-service division and for product conception.
Before joining econet, Chroust worked in the fields of database-solutions development,
network administration, and user support for Bayernwerke AG from 1994 to 1996. In 1994,
he and several of his university classmates founded a business which clients commissioned
to develop diverse database solutions.
Martin Chroust completed his academic study of informatics at Munich University of
Technology, which awarded him his diploma in 1999. He acquired additional qualifications
through advanced training sessions which earned him the title of Microsoft Certified
System Engineer (MCSE).
Thomas Reeb
Thomas Reeb has been Chief Marketing Officer at econet AG since 2008.
In addition to these responsibilities, he also develops ROI models and statistical methods for
data-mining applications.
Before joining econet, Thomas Reeb worked as a consultant at Cosmos Consulting from 1992 to 1995.
Starting in 1996 and in his capacity as a freelancer for econet, he completed projects for SNI
and Siemens. He collaborated with Rempen&Partner advertising agency to conceive a new CI for
econet in 1998, the same year in which he also took over the marketing department.
Thomas Reeb studied physics in Munich. During his university career, he also worked in advertising
agencies and media offices, where he acquired his know-how in the field of marketing.
Andrea Bartmann
Andrea Bartmann has been Chief Financial Officer at econet AG since 2008.
She is responsible for invoicing, reporting and the financial aspects of econet. Already during
the first round of investments, she has been able to contribute the knowledge she gained during
her 16 years of professional experience, especially in the fields of tax law and auditing.
Andrea Bartmann speaks the language of banks and investors. She develops financial strategies and
monitors budgets, and she has mastered the complex world of numbers. To assure that her expertise
always remains up to date, she regularly studies the latest developments in the fields of tax law
and financing. She also cultivates contacts at investor events and financial workshops.
Andrea Bartmann has stood shoulder to shoulder with econet AG in the fields of finance, invoicing
and controlling since 1998. Prior to this, she worked for many years as an independent business
advisor and as an instructor at an educational institute in Munich.
